I currently hold a position as Assistant Professor at the Cultural Geography chair group at Wageningen University. I am especially interested in the dynamics of power, people and places. My current research is particularly inspired and influenced by Michel Foucault and more generally by anthropology, and cultural and political geography. My research activities mainly focus on the contentious nature of place and the various ways citizens, planners and landscape architects use their power to influence the landscape. I teach Human Geography, and I am active in both academic and societal debates on citizenship, spatial planning and democratisation.
